Biography
Emily Content Nason (née Jellison) was born May 24th, 1850 in South Berwick, Maine in the Chase-Jellison Homestead. Emily attended the local District 11 one-room schoolhouse before graduating from Berwick Academy. She attended Gorham Seminary in 1875 to become a teacher.[2] Emily and J. Frank Nason attended and reported the birth of Edith C. Hopper, the daughter of William H. and Sarah Littlefield Hooper, on November 9, 1875.[3] On July 4th 1877 she married John Frank Nason, with whom she had one child, Mary Chase. In 1911, after the death of both her daughter and her daughter's husband Oliver Alphonso Boston, Emily became the caretaker for Mary's three children. Gladys Hasty Carroll mentions Emily in her book Dunnybrook. She died on December 16th, 1944[1] and is buried in the family cemetery on Emery's Bridge Road.
