Biography
Joshua Chase Jellison was born August 29, of 1842 in South Berwick, Maine in the Chase-Jellison Homestead. At age 8 he is listed in the August 21, 1850 census with his family.[3] On September 30, 1862 he enlisted in Company B, Maine 27th Infantry Regiment and mustered out on the 17th of July, 1863 from Portland, Maine.[4] He sent letters home to his sister Eliza during the war. Joshua married Almira Lord on Dec. 21, 1871 by Rev. Geo, W. Gile in South Berwick,Maine.[2] The June 8, 1880 census list him as rail road engineer.[5] His date of death was September 17, 1894.[1] He is buried in the family cemetery on Emery's Bridge Road South Berwick, Maine.
