Biography
Aaron Jellison was born in South Berwick, Maine in the James Warren Homestead. He married Sophia Chase on Aug. 27, 1826 by Justice of the Peace Joseph Prince, and had ten children with her. In 1835, along with his father Nathaniel Jellison, he purchased the John Thompson Property, on which the Chase-Jellison Homestead was placed. He is listed in the 1840 census with eight people living in the home.[3] In the July 2, 1860 agricultural census Aaron is farming the land.[4] By 1870 Aaron is a pump maker, producing hand pumps for wells on the south side of Emery's Bridge Road, across from the homestead.[5] He is working in carpentry by 1880.[6] Aaron is buried in the family cemetery on Emery's Bridge Road. He was mentioned in Gladys Hasty Carroll's book Dunnybrook.
