Biography
Mercy Ann[1][5] Boston (née Plaisted) was born in York, Maine, one of six children. The August 1, 1860 census lists Mercy as age 11, attending school and living with her parents and siblings.[6] She married Elijah F. Boston March 6, 1868 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire[7] by Justice of the Peace W. H. Y. Hackett.[4] In the June 23, 1880 census she is keeping house, living with her three children, husband and mother-in-law Alice Boston.[3] In the June 16, 1900 census Mercy is living with her husband, five children, a daughter-in-law and five grandchildren.[8] April 28, 1910 census she is listed under occupation as "none" and living with her husband and two youngest children.[9] Mercy Ann Boston died November 24, 1915 of Lobar Pneumonia at age 67 and the reporting physician was F.A.Ross M.D.[2] She was buried November 27, 1915 in South Berwick and the undertaker was A.K.McIntire of the same town.[2]
